This is a page for my niece’s graduation book. Pictures and a story from my birthday outing in 2000. I was 34, the girls were almost 6.

I love the fact that you guys liked my friends and enjoyed doing things with all of us. In 2000, I turned 34. The Lansing Lugnuts were home and with fireworks after the game. I wanted everyone who could make it to go with me for my birthday. That especially meant I wanted you and Rina to come!
We had Lunch at Clara’s, right by the railroad tracks and block away from the stadium. When you asked me how old I was that day and I old you, you had a look like you didn’t think people got that old. Hey, you were almost 6. 28 years must have seemed like an eternity away from you!
After lunch we walked to the game. When checking out the art and plaques outside of the park, you struck your “Napoleon pose.” The hand in the shirt to be Napoleon was one of the games we played in the car and you took off with it and got a laugh out of all of us, even a few strangers.
Papa took you to the team store to pick out a present for me. I never ask for gifts for my birthday because I just want everyone to celebrate with me. That’s an awesome present. But you guys picked out a Lugnuts jersey. That was the very first real jersey I ever had and I loved it twice as much because you guys picked it out for me. I teared up a little, but I think there was too much fun going on for you to see it.
