My BFF met us for a couple of days during our vacation last June. The day my husband took off and left us for a girls day wasn’t quite as we planned it!

It Wasn’t Supposed To Go Down Like That
When Kelly and I get together it’s a holiday, a party, a serious coffee including some silly best friend things, driving around, getting our coffee mugs. Sick is not ever supposed to be part of it, never!
Everything was great the day Kelly got in. David and I had chased the steam special in the morning and got back to the hotel right before Kelly got there. We went to lunch and talked and shared pictures and stories of the kids and grandbabies and I updated her on what was going on with the doctor stuff and adjusting to life with the wheelchair. We went to the Cardinals game and cheered on opposite sides and plenty of laughing.
Then Kelly started feeling sick overnight and through the morning. David went out railfanning alone so we could have they day together and we spent a good chunk of the morning in the room until Kel felt good enough to go out. We went to Trader Joes, reminding each other that we were both too far from home for a big grocery trip. Then we went to Starbucks. Kelly started feeling bad again and we called it an early day out.
She slept at the hotel the rest of the afternoon and didn’t do dinner with us. She was feeling a little better in the morning, but stayed at the hotel until we got back at lunchtime before she really felt up to eating and able to drive back to Sikeston.
Our Nani-Kelly Day wasn’t as ideal as they usually are, but it was still a great day because it was a Nani-Kelly day.
Word art: I blame her team – It was Cardinals Flu!
