This is my Uncle Jim, my dad's brother. He went into the army during WWII, 1943 to be exact. He is a hero to me for wanting to enlist during a horrible war and fight for our great country. The written text is the exact words and spelling that my uncle wrote on the back of each of the photos.

Also, I'd like to mention that my grandfather was a machine gunnist in France during WWI; that I had a cousin, Glenn Hiestand, Jr. who fought in WWII (suffered with post traumatic stress disorder) and my "2nd" dad (my best friend's father) who fought at Normandy during WWII; another uncle, Everett Hiestand who fought in the Korean War; another cousin, Paul Punches, and a husband of a long-time roomie, William Sommers, who fought in Viet Nam (the latter of whom was exposed to agent orange; and a dear friend whom I grew up with that on the USS New Jersey fought during the Lebanese War (1983-84).

The kit used is A Family Affair by LL Designs. The fonts used are Sylfaen and Mistral.

What a great heritage page, the design is fantastic. I love the use of the photos in a book with the words that was used by your uncle.
