Water Fun on the Current River

Water Fun on the Current River

font: journaling - Arial, pictures - Aargau

kit: Blue Wave by Julie C Designs

My geometric shapes are behind each picture - one rectangle and two 12-sided shapes

Our first family float trip on the Current River was just the three of us - my husband, our 9 yr old son and myself. The next year we added my husbands parents. My husband gave the trip to his parents as a Mother's Day gift. He knew they would never get around to going by themselves, so he told them when to meet us for the trip and we would take care of the rest - camping, floating and food expenses. They had a great time and were ready to go again. the next year. That year we added our 6 yr old son and 4 more family members with my husband's sister and family for a total of 10. They had heard how much fun we were having and wanted to join us. God blessed us with a great time and we will always remember that trip because my father-in-law died unexpectedly a month later. We skipped the float trip the next summer. Nobody was ready to face the memories of floating without Ivan with us. But we did go the next 3 summers after that and added more family members. By then everyone was wanting to float and experience something that Ivan had enjoyed and talked about so much. The most family members we had with us at one time was 19. As life goes, schedules get hectic and it is hard to find the time in our busy lives to get everyone together to float. My husband, our two sons and myself did float again last summer after five years off. We had a great time again but missed the company of family.

That is such a heart-warming story. I love it when God blesses us with family and time to relax, share and enjoy His amazing creation. I love the way you have the boat in the water, and the creative journaling block overlaying that. The photos are perfectly surrounded by the lovely and unique elements that just make this layout POP! I love the attention to detail you paid to this sweet family memory page.
