Pictures of my grandmother and grandfather and their 4 children and the family dog. They always had a dog or two in the family.The oldest son was my father. The youngest was my aunt and a girl. The whole family are all in heaven now. Here is my story.

" I happen to be scanning in some old pictures my grandmother had put in her album and was reflecting back on me growing up and how she influenced me with her love of life, her laughter and joy of just being alive. She was always so happy all the times I was with her no matter what was happening around her, good or bad. She had a privilege life with servants to only lose all of it in the 1920’s with the crash, but not her positive outlook on life. She left Vermont in their only car with my grandfather and children and the dog along with her aunt who took over the cooking, cleaning and raising the children for her. I always thought my Aunt Mattie was a servant until I did the family genealogy and found out she was my grandmother’s aunt and the one lady I called aunt was just her best friend she went to finishing school with.
We called my grandmother granny goose and not grandmother, granny, nana or any popular names for a grandmother. Giving her that nick name was probably not good, but she just loved us calling her that. She was so fun. I found some pictures of her showing the joy on her face when she had her children and the dog with her going somewhere like the beach or visiting relatives. One of the photos shows her driving the car with all the kids and the family dog with my dad as the oldest in the back seat in back of her.
