Who I Am

Who I Am

I haven't even looked at anyone's layouts, because I wanted this one to truly be me. I am on vacation, 1000 miles from home, so I don't have all my pictures with me. I considered doing a layout about my dad, but don't have good pictures and I'm not quite ready to scrap about him yet. So I chose to go with a very recent photo of myself, and reflect on where I am in life and whether or not I like it.

Journaling reads: "I’ve been through my share of rough times. I lost my mom when I was only 15, thrusting me into the adult woman’s life somewhat ill prepared to do so. As the youngest of five children, I fought for recognition of my own valued contribution to the family unit. I married young, at only 22. No one ever gets married with the idea that their marriage is going to fail, and yet I found myself single again 17 years later, raising six kids on my own. I’ve been through multiple job changes, a couple of failed relationships, financial struggles, even some health concerns. But as I look back on where I’ve been, where I am now, and where I’m headed, I find that I like what I see. Each person is a product of their life experiences. We learn and live and react to what life brings us based on what has happened and what we’ve learned in the past. And while life hasn’t always been a piece of cake, I have come to the point in my life where

Great layout. I can relate to "No one ever gets married with the idea that their marriage is going to fail". I'm raising my four kids alone after 18 years of marriage. Four is hard enough, but six! I tip my hat to you.

You have many hidden talents I see. I guess when you have 6 children that makes you very creative. You've created a lovely layout to share about yourself. By sharing your heart, it allows others to see that even with the challenges, you can make it! Wow!

You've pieced your layout together perfectly to demonstrate the many pieces of you, carefully tailored to share your life now and who you've become. You should be very proud of yourself, after all you totally ROCK! It is very refreshing and lovely.
Here's to more happy scrapping, and

I like your honest journaling. I like your attitude. You have found the best in your struggles, and I think that is what makes for a successful life. I think it's hard to journal about yourself. Kudos to you!

I love this LO. It is sound hard to include ourselves in LO's, let alone make on be about us. Yours is honest, refreshing and fun. Your spirit is unbroken and shines through. Big smooches!

I love your page! I think it's so important to do layouts of ourselves, and let's face it: most of us don't. I especially like your honest journalling and the recognition that life isn't always easy, but difficult times do not have to define us in a negative way or determine our destiny. Really great job!
