Rose I am in awe of your Aunt Glady, truly in awe. What a beautiful thing she did for all of you, but especially for you. It is a rare person who steps up, takes charges and fixes something that big. And it was very big. I love the way you journaled and scrapped this, it fits to perfection.

How absolutely horrible for you, it just breaks my heart. I'm so glad you were brave enough to get out, and protect your siblings as well. And it's equally brave of you to share all this with the rest of us. I applaud your pluck and your strength and am glad you broke the cycle. Terrific job on this challenge!

Not only are you an amazing woman, but so is your Aunt for stepping in. Unfortunately childhood abuse was more common than we realize. So happy you were able to change everything for your children, and what a beautiful difference that was. Thank you for sharing this very personal story, although I'm sure it was difficult. Sometimes it is so hard to reconcile the sweet one from the mean one.
Your layout is beautiful. I love the torn paper on the edges, much like you, but wholly intact and beautiful on the inside. You are truly a survivor. You wrote with grace and love and that is so special. The corner cluster is fabulous as is the frame and photo. Lovely work.

Wow! Wow to both the beautiful layout and the personal story of your life! I'm so sorry that you and your siblings had to endure such a horrible childhood but I am so happy that you had both the strength to get your and your siblings out and that you had TRUE loving relatives to step in and give you all what you needed. Thank you for sharing this story of survival; it must have been most difficult. The layout is beautiful, the photo of your aunt and uncle is enhanced by the wonderful arrangement of papers and elements.

I can not imagine being in an abusive upbring and it was so wonderful that the family helped all the children out and you were so lucky to have been taken in by such loving grandparents. A wonderful tribute to your grandparents. I love the paper you did.

not only are you absolutely capable of love and being loved....you have amazing courage and strength...at 15 to take on injustice and protect others...now that is courage. Your layout is beautiful and I imagine Aunt Glady is looking down on you and smiling!

Thank you for sharing such an incredibly personal and courageous story - I was really moved by the words you spoke and the woman you've become. How fortunate your husband and children are that you were strong enough to begin a new, different cycle of love and compassion and kindness. Fantastic job!

oh Jimmyrose! ((hugs)) I'm so sorry to hear of your difficult childhood, and soo saddened by your own mother's past experiences (and her decisions to act as she did) she truly gave away one of the worlds best gifts...the gift of her children and the memory of a joyful childhood for them. I'm very thankful that your Aunt was able to step in and protect you all. What incredible bravery you have. I'm the oldest of the 'little kids' in my family (there were 9 of us, so there were the 'big kids' group and the 'little kids' group.) i remember that maternal instinct to step in and protect them from any harm and i imagine that your siblings still look to you to this day. I'm thankful that you were there for them just as your Aunt was there for you. ((hugs)) absolutely beautiful layout, as others have already said, the torn paper you added truly is perfect for symbolizing the torn childhood you experienced. and even still, you've created something outstandingly beautiful out of it, just as you've become an incredibly strong and beautiful person in spite of your torn childhood.

Rose your page is beautiful and your journalling is so special, I know it must have been a very difficult page to create and commend you on your courage and determination to protect your siblings and get out of that abusive environment. Your aunt and Uncle sound like very special people and I am sure they are looking down with the utmost pride in how you have lived your life sweetie (((hugs)))

Your journaling had me hanging on the edge of my seat! Such a powerful story. Your aunt and uncle sound like wonderful people and such a blessing to you. It sounds like they possessed the same courage you did ... they stood their ground and didn't allow your mother the opportunity to abuse you again. Your layout is well arranged. The color technique on the photo is a perfect compliment to the kit. Your clustering is lovely, and the paper arrangement nicely done. Great job!

Oh, my goodness, what a fabulous story! So sad what you went through, yet so wonderful that you survived and even better...thrived. Love the layout too, the clustering is awesome, and I love the torn pages...shows how much good can come from a bad situation!
