This week was tough for a couple of reasons. I really don't take a lot of Christmas photos, and the journaling will explain why. Add to that that I'm still 500 miles from home and don't have access to what little I do have. I considered "borrowing" a photo from a scrapping friend, but decided it wouldn't be me, and this challenge has been about "me" in a way. So....I decided to scrap my real Christmases!

I used an embossed paper for the background, plus multiple papers in my blocks for the background to the cluster. My photo is black and white, and I made the frame. The script in the first part of the title has the darker pink paper clipped to it, so it is really the paper, not just a matching ink color. Hope you like it! #and I hope it uploads...this internet connection is really slow lol#

"I rarely take pictures on Christmas. I would rather be a PART of things, not merely viewing the festivities through the camera lens. I may take a few pictures, then I generally put the camera away and just enjoy the day. We have certain routines and traditions on Christmas morning. We open gifts starting with the youngest, and working our way up, one gift at a time. When everyone has opened one gift, we start again, until all gifts have been opened. It’s too hard to watch everyone’s reaction to each other’s gifts when you have the camera focused on the one opening a gift. And family is too important to me to miss those moments. So I get a few pictures, then I immerse myself in the day and have memories in my head and in my heart, if not in my camera. So, Christmas is the camer’a’s day off. My Nikon deserves a day of rest... after all, it sure works hard the rest of the year!"

Beautiful layout and clever journalling. I agree with you--enjoy the day! Last Christmas my brother was on facebook and one of his friends was busy putting the video of his kids on there rather than playing with the kids.

Great reminder of an important point. It's hard to be in the memories if you are outside looking in. Anyway, it's a great layout with the super stacked cluster!

Every Christmas I try to get photos. I do get some, but then get lost in the day and photos get untaken. I don't mind until the day is over and I want to scrap. Your lay out is very clever.

Outstanding in journaling and idea too! Very creative way to share your memories in "your head and heart." This layout had me saying ahhhh! Love the title it's super eye-catching.

This layout made me smile... love the theme! I agree it (and you especially) need a day off once in awhile to enjoy the festivities! Love all the clustering around the camera, makes it look like it was a gift or as if you are pampering it on it's day off. Great layout.
